    30 AIKO Solar Panels, 17.52kWh Sigenergy Battery Storage, Full Home Backup & SmartEV Charging.

    JME Energy Ltd recently completed and premium installation for a homeowner in Dorset, delivering a fully integrated Renewable Energy system built around the Sigenergy Sigenstor platform, high-output AIKO Solar panels, smart Battery storage, full home backup capability and EV charging.

    This was not a basic Solar install. It was the full package- designed to reduce the customers electricity bills, maximise the available roof space, improve energy independence and give the property a future- ready energy setup for Solar generation, Battery storage, EV Charging and backup power.

    The finished system included:

    • 30 x AIKO 550w Solar Panels
    • 1 x 10kw Sigenergy Hybrid Inverter/ Energy controller
    • 2 x Sigenergy 8.76kWh Battery Modules/17.52kWh total
    • 1 x Sigenergy HomePro backup Gateway for full home backup
    • 1 x Sigenergy 7kw EV AC Charger
    • Tigo Optimisers on selected shaded Solar panels
    • Bird Protection as standard with every installation.
    • MCS Certification, DNO Notification and a full handover.

    The system was designed across two roof aspects, with 20 panels on the south-facing roof and 10 panels on the east-facing roof. This gives the customer a highly effective generation split, with strong production during the middle of the day from the South array and useful earlier generation from the East-facing panels.

    That roof layout made excellent use of the available space and allowed the customer to install a large, high-output system without compromising the appearance or function of the property.


    Why we used AIKO Solar Panels.

    For this installation, we selected AIKO Solar panels because the customer had a large roof space and wanted a premium, high-output system. The proposal specified AIKOA550-MCE60Db Gen 3 AIKO Neostar panels, giving the system a total proposed Solar capacity of 16.5kWh.

    AIKO’s Neostar range is a strong choice for customers who want high efficiency, clean aesthetics and strong long-term performance. AIKO’s official Neostar 3S+60 range lists high module efficiency, 25-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty, with low annual degradation figures.

    In simple terms, this means more power from the same roof space. On a property where the customer wants to make the most of every usable section of roof, panel choice matters. Using premium AIKO Solar panels helped us maximise the system size and deliver a strong projected annual generation figure.

    The proposed estimated annual generation at around 14,184kWh per year, with a projected CO₂ saving of 2,933kg per year.


    A smart 20 South/ 10 East Panel Split

    The roof layout was particularly effective. We installed 20 panels on the South-facing roof and 10 panels on the East-facing roof.

    The South-facing panels give the customer strong generation during the main daylight hours, while the East-facing panels help the system start producing earlier in the day. This is useful for a real household because energy use does not only happen at peak midday production. Morning generation can help cover background loads, appliances, Battery charging and general household use earlier in that day.

    Rather than forcing all panels onto one roof plane, the system was designed around the actual useable roof space. That allowed us to create a larger, better-balanced Solar array and make the roof work harder for the customer.

    This is exactly where good Solar design makes the difference. It is not just about how many panels fit; it is about how the system behaves across the day.


    Optimised Panels Where Shading Was Likely.

    Some of the rear panels had the potential to be affected by shading from nearby trees, so we installed optimisers where they were needed.

    The proposal included 20 x Tigo TS4-A-O optimisers for improved panel-level performance and monitoring.

    This was important because even partial shading on selected panels can reduce the performance of a string if it is not designed correctly. By optimising the panels most likely to be affected, the system can manage shading more intelligently and help reduce the impact of trees or changing light conditions.

    This approach avoids, overcomplicating the system unnecessarily, while still protecting performance where shading is most likely to occur.

    Why Sigenergy Was The Right Choice

    For the Battery Storage and energy management side, we used Sigenergy SigenStor because this installation needed more than a standard Inverter and Battery setup.

    The customer wanted Solar, Battery Storage, EV Charging and backup capability all working together. Sigenergy is very strong for this because the platform is designed as an integrated energy ecosystem rather than a collection of separate products.

    Sigenergy describes SigenStor as an AI-optimised 5-in-1 home energy storage system, integrating Solar Inverter, Battery PCS, Battery pack, EV Charging and energy management into one platform.

    That is a big part of why we like it for premium domestic installs. The footprint is compact, the system looks clean, the hardware is modular, and the customer gets one joined-up platform for Solar, Battery, backup and EV Charging.

    Instead of having separate-looking equipment from different manufacturers, the Sigenergy setup gives a much neater finish and a more complete smart energy system.


    Sigenergy AI Features: Smarter Energy Without the Customer Having to Think About It

    One of the biggest benefits of the Sigenergy system is the intelligence behind it. The aim is not just to generate Solar Energy. The aim is to use that energy at the right time, store it when it makes sense, charge the EV intelligently, reduce grid imports, and make the most of export opportunities.

    The Sigenergy platform uses AI-driven energy management to help optimise how power flows between the Solar Panels, Battery, EV Charger and the grid. This means the system can support smarter decisions around:

    • Charging the Battery from excess Solar
    • Using stored energy during expensive grid periods
    • Supporting EV Charging from Solar and Battery where available
    • Reducing unnecessary grid import
    • Monitoring performance through the app
    • Helping the customer get more value from the system over time

    This is where a system like Sigenergy starts to stand out. It is not just a Battery bolted onto a Solar Inverter. It is a smart energy platform designed to manage the home as a complete energy environment.

    For customers on time-of-use tariffs, this can become even more valuable. The proposal model showed that Battery management could create additional savings by charging during cheaper periods and discharging or exporting when prices are higher.


    Full Home Backup with Sigenergy HomePro Gateway

    This installation also included the Sigenergy HomePro backup gateway, giving the customer backup power capability in the event of a power cut.

    Sigenergy states that is gateway can detect grid outages and transition to backup power, while allowing monitoring and control through the mySigenergy app.

    For this customer, the gateway was a key part of the design. It means the system is not only about saving money; it also adds resilience. If the grid goes down, the home has backup capability from the Battery system, depending on load, Battery state of charge and how the backup circuits have been configured.

    This is becoming more popular with customers who want a premium Solar and Battery system that does more than just offset electricity bills.


    Domestic EV Charger Installation

    Integrated Sigenergy EV Charging

    The system also included a Sigenergy 7kw EV AC Charger with a 5m Type 2 cable, giving the customer an EV charging solution as part of the same energy ecosystem.

    This is another reason we used Sigenergy. The EV charger does not sit separately from the rest of the Solar and Battery Setup. It forms part of the same smart platform, meaning the customer can benefit from a cleaner installation, better integration and smarter energy use.

    For homeowners with an electric vehicle, this type of setup makes a lot of sense. Solar generation can help power, the home during the day, charge the Battery, support EV charging and reduce reliance on expensive grid electricity.


    Battery Storage: 17.52kWh Of Usable Flexibility

    The completed system included two Sigenergy 8.76kWh Battery modules, giving 17.52kWh of Battery Storage.

    That amount of storage gives the customer far more flexibility than a small entry-level Battery. It allows more excess Solar energy to be stored during the day and used later in the evening, overnight, or during high-cost tariff periods.

    The proposal estimated that with Battery storage, the customer’s grid dependence would be reduced compared with a PV-only system, helping more of the Solar energy generated on site to be used within the home.

    With a large Solar array like this, Battery sizing is important. If the battery is too small, too much excess energy is pushed back to the grid. With 17.52kWh of storage, this customer has a much better chance of using more of their own Solar generation rather than buying electricity back later at a higher rate.


    The result

    The installation is now complete, and the customer is already saving money and making far better use of the roof space.

    This project is a great example of what a modern premium Solar installation can look like when the system is designed properly from the start. The customer now has:

    • A large 30-panel AIKO Solar array
    •  A powerful Sigenergy Hybrid Inverter/energy controller
    • 17.52kwh Sigenergy Battery Storage
    • Full home backup via the Sigenergy HomePro gateway
    • Optimised panels where shading was likely
    • Smart app-based monitoring
    • A future-ready platform that can help manage energy more intelligently

    The customer is thrilled with the finished result, both in terms of installation and the performance of the system.
